ADONIS CONSTRUCTION SHORTLISTED FOR INDUSTRY OSCAR

Automotive specialist, Adonis Construction, is celebrating after being shortlisted for one of the motor trade’s most prestigious awards.

The Black Country-based firm is one of three finalists vying for the ‘Innovation in Property’ crown at the 2008 AM Awards.

Run by AM Magazine, the leading publication for the UK automotive industry, the awards honour outstanding achievement in the motor trade sector, with companies being judged on quality, service and innovation.

One of Adonis’ most recent developments, a £6.2million Mercedes-Benz dealership in Ascot, has been shortlisted for the Innovation in Property category.

Built for Greenoaks, the state-of-the art dealership was designed to not only make a visual statement, but also reflect the qualities associated with the iconic Mercedes-Benz brand.

Specially cut diamond jet floor tiles were used in the showroom and a stylish cylindrical customer service suite comprising refreshment and seating areas was created as the centrepiece of the building.

Space was also at a premium and to overcome this, an innovative semi-subterranean workshop and roof-top car park were installed to maximise all available land without compromising visual impact.

“Our team put considerable time and effort into creating a building that not only lived up to Greenoaks’ expectations, but also exceeded them,” said Neville Clements, chairman of Adonis. “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a winning result.”

Recognised as one of the UK’s leading names in dealership design and build, over half of Adonis’ £40million turnover comes from the automotive industry. The company also specialises in commercial, education, healthcare, public service and residential projects.

The winners of the AM Awards will be announced on 27 February at the ICC in Birmingham.
